Electrocardiogram (ECG/EKG)

An electrocardiogram records the heart’s electrical activity. This test can show abnormalities in the heart rhythm and rate. It can also detect if a past heart attack has occurred or is occurring.

What to Expect

Small sticky patches are applied to the skin and wires are hooked to the patches. No electrical impulses are felt.

Preparation

There is no preparation for this test.

Time

This test takes approximately 10 minutes to be performed in our office.
