Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) Clinic
Your heart beats 120,000 times a day. You depend on it to carry blood throughout your body. Unfortunately nearly 5 million Americans suffer from the affects of heart failure and approximately half a million people are diagnosed with heart failure each year.
Congestive heart failure is diagnosed when the heart is unable to pump adequate amounts of blood to meet the demands of your body’s organs. When this happens some, or all, of the following symptoms may be present:
• Trouble breathing (shortness of breath) • Swelling of feet and legs • Weight gain from water (swelling) • Lack of energy/trouble carrying out physical activities • Difficulty sleeping at night due to breathing problems • Swollen or tender stomach with loss of appetite • Cough with frothy sputum • Increased urination at night • Confusion and/or memory loss
If you are diagnosed with congestive heart failure, know that you will be in good hands with CVC’s caring, specialized group of physicians and staff. At the Congestive Heart Failure Clinic, our staff helps you understand the disease, maps the road for your quickest recovery, and helps you maintain a healthy lifestyle to manage the disease.
For more information, your provider can give you a copy of the "CVC Congestive Heart Failure Patient Handbook” which is available to patients in our office.
